Training for sustainability

Autism Training in Hunan

The Initiative for Autism Training in Hunan was launched in 2018 with the generous support of the Chia Family Foundation. Given the lack of effective early interventions for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in China, this initiative has sought to improve the capacity of parents and professionals working with children with ASD in Hunan through a two-year training series in evidence-based practices.

Yale-China coordinated the efforts of two partners in Connecticut—the Yale Child Study Center, and the Center for Children with Special Needs—with trainees in Hunan from the Xiangya Second Hospital Mental Health Institute and the Hunan Ruijian Accessibility Development Center.
